On June 11, 2018 the London Philharmonic Orchestra marked the 30th anniversary of its Education & Community Programme with a spectacular Summer Gala celebration at the City of London’s Guildhall.
In the presence of HRH The Duke of Kent, special guest artists showcased some of the educational programme’s exciting and inspirational work. The performance was conducted by Vladimir Jurowski, the LPO’s Principal Conductor & Artistic Advisor.
The Summer Gala also featured a silent auction and live auction to help raise money for the Orchestra’s core projects. Through its education & community programme, the LPO aims to share world-class music with the broadest possible audience. Its work ranges from introducing school children to orchestral music for the first time, through to nurturing the next generation of instrumentalists and composers.
Jonathan David Harris is a member of the LPO’s Advisory Board. For more information about the valuable work of the Orchestra’s Education & Community Programme, visit: www.lpo.org.uk/education/about-education.html.
